Subject: Development Academy Suspends Operations Effective Immediately

Hello Academy Clubs –

As shared by U.S. Soccer in our recent press release, the Development Academy has immediately suspended all Academy operations, including all regular season matches scheduled through April 30, 2020 and cancelling the 2020 Allstate U.S. Soccer Development Academy Spring Cup for both boys and girls.
The Academy is currently assessing the competition schedule and determining the next steps moving forward. We will share more information regarding DA Cup, regular season matches and rescheduling as soon as possible. Within the next week we will schedule conference calls with Academy Directors to discuss our evolving plans moving forward.
Any flights that have been booked for Academy competiontion before April 30, including Spring Cup, should be cancelled by the clubs. If airlines question the reason for cancellation, please use the official U.S. Soccer press release for reference. Contact the airline directly for more information regarding their cancellation policies.
All clubs who booked hotels with Anthony Travel for Spring Cup will have their reservations cancelled by the end of the day, Thursday March 12. Those teams who booked with Anthony Travel will be protected from any charges or fees. If you would like to keep your hotel accommodations, please email Anthony Travel at ussoccer@anthonytravel.com. Any clubs who did not book hotels through Anthony Travel will have to manage that cancellation individually.
Please keep open lines of communication with your parents and have them contact you directly for more information about how your club is managing this.
Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe.

Regards,
U.S. Soccer Development Academy Staff
